Dr. Banks is board certified in allergy and immunology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1977. He completed a residency in pediatrics also at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. A fellowship was completed in allergy and immunology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1984. Dr. Banks has been practicing allergy and immunology with Allergy and Asthma Associates, P.A. since 1984.
Dr. Banks lives in Arnold with his wife and has three grown children.
Dr. Banks is on the medical staffs at Anne Arundel Medical and Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also maintains a faculty appointment in the School of Medicine.
Timothy Andrews, M.D.
Dr. Andrews joined Allergy and Asthma Associated in 2004 after completing his fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1998. He completed a residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2001.
Dr. Andrews was born and raised in Annapolis and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1988. He returns to Anne Arundel County after completing six years of active duty naval service followed by medical training. Dr. Andrews lives in Arnold with his wife and four children.
Dr. Andrews is on the medical staffs at Anne Arundel Medical Center and Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Karli Sutherland, CRNP
Karli Sutherland, Family Nurse Practitioner received her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2003. She returned to Stevenson University for her Bachelors Degree in Nursing finishing up in 2008. She continued to work as a Registered Nurse while returning for her Masters Degree at the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Nursing specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. After 3 years she took a position at a private practice in Ellicott City, Maryland which specialized in Allergies and Asthma. She joins Dr. Banks and Dr. Andrew’s in October 2019 and is looking forward to her new role.
She grew up and still resides in Lothian, Maryland where she lives on her family farm with her husband, 4 children and their chocolate lab.

Our staff is available to assist you in any way possible. We are fortunate that majority of our staff are very long term employees who enjoy their positions. The entire staff works as a team to serve you and your medical needs.
We trust you will find our front desk staff friendly and helpful, and they will direct you to the proper reason to answer your questions or resolve any concerns, The front desk is the hub of the practice, and the staff there handles Incoming calls, interacts with patients with appointments, etc. You might notice the busy pace these employees handle, but they will always have time for you!
Our professional nursing staff is well trained in the specialty of allergy and asthma. Nursing tasks include preparing patients for the physician, skin testing, administering allergy injections, and overseeing many aspects of patient education. The nurses will also take your telephone calls for prescription refills, messages and updates for the physician, and all the other inquiries.
