Our staff is available to assist you in any way possible. We are fortunate that the majority of our staff are very long term employees who enjoy their positions. The entire staff works as a team to serve you and your medical needs. We trust you will find our front desk staff friendly and helpful, and they will direct you to the proper person to answer your questions or resolve any concerns. The front desk is the hub of the practice, and the staff there handles incoming calls, interacts with patients with appointments, etc. You might notice the busy pace these employees handle, but they will always have time for you!

Our professional nursing staff is well trained in the specialty of allergy and asthma. They participate in continuing education from The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Nursing tasks include preparing patients for the physician, skin testing, administering allergy injections, and overseeing many aspects of patient education. The nurses will also take your telephone calls for prescription refills, messages and updates for the physician, and all other medical inquiries.

PHYSICIAN INFORMATION

		James R. Banks, M.D. Dr. Banks is board certified in allergy and immunology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville in 1977. He completed a residency in pediatrics also at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. A fellowship was completed in allergy & immunology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1984. Dr. Banks has been practicing Allergy & Immunology with Allergy & Asthma Associates since 1984. Dr. Banks lives in Arnold with his wife and three children.
		Timothy Andrews, M.D. Dr. Andrews joined Allergy & Asthma Associates in 2004 after completing his fellowship training in allergy and immunology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1998. He completed a residency in pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2001. Dr. Andrews was born and raised in Annapolis and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1988. He returns to Anne Arundel County after completing 6 years of active duty naval service followed by medical training. Dr. Andrews lives in Arnold with his wife and four children.
		Robert S. Barranco, Jr., P.A.-C. Mr. Barranco is a board certified physician assistant. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the State of New York and his Physician Assistant Certification from Anne Arundel Community College. He has earned a Masters of Physician Assistant Degree in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Mr. Barranco (Bob) was raised in Severna Park and currently lives in Severna Park with his wife and two children.
		Anne McConnell, C.R.N.P. Mrs. McConnell is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 1992, and a Master of Science in Nursing from The Catholic University of America. Her clinical experience includes four years of practice as a pediatric research nurse at The National Institutes of Health and five years as a pediatric nurse practitioner in primary care. Mrs. McConnell (Anne) was born and raised in Anne Arundel County and lives in Annapolis with her husband and daughter.
